We live in a world where most people take the internet for granted. We think nothing of being able to buy our favorite candy from across the globe, booking vacations and adventures at the click of a button, ordering dinner when we don’t have the energy to cook, and stalking our ex-boyfriends on social media. We’ve become so accustomed to the internet that we don’t appreciate it as much as we should. So, here’s our declaration of love, loud and proud for everyone to hear. You’re our favorite, internet.
You know what makes us love the internet even more? When people get called out for talking trash. While most people use the internet to better their lives, there are other people who use it to brag, lie, and talk about things that just aren’t appropriate. Thankfully, there are many internet heroes who aren’t afraid to pull out some savage responses and burns that put these liars back in their place. You better whip out the aloe vera for these bad boys, because these burns are super-strength.
The ultimate dirty talk
Most people keep their internet usage pretty PG, but that’s not to say that some internet users get a bit saucy every now and then. While this woman was hoping that someone would whisper something dirty in her ear – or at least through the speaker in their computer…
She probably didn’t get the response that she was looking for. You have to give it to Marcus, though, because he’s not wrong. Her feet really are quite dirty, and we wouldn’t be happy if someone with dirty feet like that was lying on our kitchen countertops.
The trial sibling
If you’re the oldest sibling in your family, you may have been called the “trial sibling.” After all, your parents didn’t know how to raise a kid when they had you, and they had no experience of what was the right and wrong way to bring you up.
When your younger sibling came along, though, they knew exactly what to do. This older sibling thought that they were being pretty philosophical with their social media post, but they were soon brought back down to earth with this little reminder. That had to hurt.
Down the right path
People just loud to spout proverbs and quotes on social media, don’t they? While these people obviously think that these things make them sound smart and cultured, the reality of these quotes is that they’re just a little outdated.
Just look at this African proverb. Sure, we respect our elders and appreciate everything they’ve done for us over the years, but the youth of today have it a little easier. Instead of having to read a physical map, we have Google Maps to do it for us. It’s as simple as that.
Courtroom mic drop
Okay, is it possible to go back in time so that we could sit on the jury to witness this epic courtroom exchange? While we’d love to know a little more about this case and why there was a brain in the jar, we just have to appreciate this savage response for a moment.
This attorney obviously wanted to do everything they could to fight for their case, but the doctor wasn’t having any of it. They made it quite clear that they were sure the patient was no longer alive.
Taxi for one
Social media is a great way to vent your anger and to let out some of your thoughts, but you have to be careful in terms of what you’re actually saying – and whether you’re giving your followers any reason to deliver a savage burn.
This person was obviously pretty annoyed that they were giving their friends and family lifts all the time, but their status update didn’t really make sense. After all, if he expects money from his driving antics, he really is a taxi service. That’s kinda how they work.
Don’t flatter yourself
It’s sometimes easy to get jealous when you enter into a new relationship, but it’s important to understand the situation before jumping to conclusions. You know, like this young lady. She didn’t realize that the girl texting her “boyfriend” was actually his sister.
And she got a little too ahead of herself. Because of this, the sister needed to push her down a few pegs. She needed to let the “girlfriend” know that she really wasn’t quite special as she thought she was. Meow.
Calling the cops
If you’re planning a party and want to invite people on social media, you probably shouldn’t tag the local police department in your post. That’s just asking for trouble, especially if you plan on having hundreds of people attend. However, it actually seems that this person tagging the police department gave them more publicity than before, anyway.
As the Lees Summit Police stated in their savage comment, it didn’t look like anyone was actually planning on heading to their party, so they probably shouldn’t have gotten ahead of themselves.
What does that say?
People love to insult each other, and sometimes it’s pretty fun. If you’re good friends with the person you’re roasting, it can help you pass the time and strengthen your bond. There’s a big difference between roasting and just being a horrible person, though. After all, everyone knows that you don’t insult someone else’s dogs. That’s the first rule of the roasting club. When this person tried to insinuate that their friend didn’t love their dog enough, they decided to fight back with a little burn of their own.
If you have ever been scorned by a man in your life, you’re probably onboard with the whole shooting-men-into-space- thing. It would certainly make this world a little quieter for a while. There are some people who just wouldn’t be happy with this plan, though…
Unless all of the other garbage people on this planet went with them. This burn exchange is something that savage dreams are made of, and we really do have to congratulate this person for pulling this off. Let’s give them a round of applause.
We like to think that in 2020 people have become more inclusive of disabled people, but it seems as though this person didn’t quite get that memo. In fact, Daniel believes that disabled people should only be allowed a specific window of when they can and can’t leave the house.
And when they can and can’t use disabled parking spaces. To most people, this is utterly ridiculous, and this disabled person wanted to make Daniel aware of that fact. After all, they’re not werewolves.
Sharing is caring
The world is full of selfish people who all think that they’re right, and we’re gonna go out on a limb and say that this person is one of them. They didn’t think that anyone who wasn’t from a country that celebrates the Lunar New Year could celebrate the impressive event.
But they were quickly shut down by a very generous individual. We like the person who delivered this burn, and for that reason, we’re going to take them up on their offer and invite all of our friends and family.
Car of the future
Whatever your thoughts on Elon Musk, you can’t deny that this was a savage burn. It’s not every day that we get to check out what the car of the future may look like, but it seems as though some people – including Elon Musk – have some reservations about this particular company.
While this may have come from a rather competitive side of the tech mogul, we have to admit that it made us laugh. Everyone knows what this company is about, and everyone knows that this may actually be a possibility…
A Photoshop wizard
Social media is great when you want to communicate and flirt with your crush, but it can be pretty irritating when this crush is only one-sided. We have a feeling that this girl didn’t really want to become this person’s girlfriend.
So she decided to guess an animal that normally wouldn’t be seen so close to an elephant. What she didn’t bargain on were the other person’s Photoshop skills. Sure, they have a long way to go before becoming a Photoshop wizard, but that was a pretty smart move.
The eradication station
Let’s be honest; the world is full of know-it-alls. People seem to think that they have the 411 on everything that goes on in the world and that their thoughts and feelings are the only ones that matter.
This can be pretty problematic when you’re dealing with an organization that has quite literally saved millions of lives because there are many fans of these organizations around the world. When this person tried to bring down the World Health Organization, Dr. Karl wasn’t going to stand for it.
What do you do?
There are two kinds of people on this planet. There are those who ensure that their social media posts are grammatically correct with all of the right spellings involved, and then there are those who choose to be a little more casual with their writing.
Neither is right, and neither is wrong because everyone can do what they want on their own profiles – but this redditor obviously had a bone to pick. They probably assumed that their post was going to go viral, but in reality, they were shut down immediately.
The common denominator
Everyone has their own opinions of feminists, and this guy obviously had a rather negative opinion of those who want equality for both men and women. What he didn’t realize in his anti-feminist tirade, though, is the fact that his post was the ultimate self-own.
He may never have met a feminist who looked like a very happy person, but does he not realize that he has been the common denominator during all of these interactions? Perhaps they just really didn’t like this person and weren’t going to pretend that they did.
Unusual DIY skills
Millennials are often given a tough ride throughout life. Older generations underestimate millennials at every turn, and they are quick to push them down and disqualify any new skills that don’t fall into their own baby boomer category. However, it’s all generational.
Just as this person said, baby boomers have pathetic blacksmithing skills compared to Saxons, who lived during the 9th century. Where’s their article pointing out all of their flaws? You’ve gotta paint everyone with the same brush, after all.
Letting the tears flow
If we ever had the chance to write our own book, we would be searching our name on every social media platform available. We’d want to know what people thought of our writing, and we’d want to see whether readers loved us or hated us.
Because of this, we really don’t blame Roger Freedman for getting involved in this conversation. He saw that his book was being talked about, and he couldn’t wait to get involved. Of course, we have a feeling that these weren’t tears of joy, but we’ll let him have it…
If we’re being totally honest, we would pay good money for the chance to become waterproof on the day that we turn 18 years old. After all, that would save us a huge amount of hassle. We wouldn’t have to bother with picking a specific outfit…
We wouldn’t have to wear our rubber boots, and we wouldn’t have to carry an umbrella everywhere we go. Although we know that this was supposed to be a savage response to a rather strange tweet, this is actually an idea we can get behind.
Good luck with that
Many trolls love to hide behind their screens and hit out at celebrities they have one-sided beef with. We’re not sure why they think that they can talk to people they don’t know like that, but that doesn’t stop them from doing it on a regular basis.
This particular troll tried to take down former child star Frankie Muniz and even tagged him in their tweet. What they probably didn’t expect, though, was a savage burn that would put them right back in their place.
Kylie vs. Kylie
There was once a time when Kylie Jenner wanted to trademark her name so she could become like the other one-name icons of the world. We’re talking about people like Madonna, Prince, Adele, and others. However, it seems as though Kylie forgot that she wasn’t the only Kylie that the celebrity world had to offer.
As soon as Kylie Minogue realized what the reality star/makeup mogul was trying to do, she immediately got her lawyers on the case and made sure that they clapped back in their own savage way.
Fighting right back
Chris Jericho is used to fighting for his title and his honor – even if he has to bow down and allow his competitor to take the win. However, it seems as though he wasn’t going to be beaten when Arby’s decided that they wanted a fight.
While they cut him up with their words and their hints of cardboard, what they didn’t expect was for this insult to be thrown back in their faces. His response was something that garnered a huge amount of attention, and most people sided with Jericho…
Who is he?
Whether this woman meant her comment as an insult or a compliment, it seems as though it was the perfect bait for one of their friends to reply in a hilarious and savage manner. After all, you can’t look at that status and just leave it, can you?
When their friend saw their opportunity, they were going to take it, and they were going to make sure that they could inflict one of the biggest burns they’ve ever inflicted in the past. Her heart probably wasn’t smiling after this.
A fake girlfriend
The internet gives people the chance to comment on whatever they want, from your friend’s Facebook status to your favorite artist’s new music video on YouTube. TheCityFree wanted to showcase the love that they had for this new song, but what they didn’t realize was that they were setting themselves up for the ultimate roasting.
They were probably just being funny, but they were hit with a comment that made countless people laugh out loud. We wonder whether his girlfriend is real or fake? We just don’t know anymore.
What a fun mom
It’s amazing to see people on the internet feel as though they can control another person’s life. While this person may have been looking up some reproductive facts on the internet, it was pretty weird of them to write this about the famous singer, Taylor Swift.
It seems as though we’re not the only ones who thought that, as this person decided to let them know that they were being a little bit creepy. While we’re sure Taylor Swift would be a fun mom, she’s also a great cat mom, and she can be whoever she wants to be.
Sharpest pencil in the pot
What were you doing when you were 6 years old? You were probably playing kiss chase with your classmates and throwing paper airplanes across the room, but it seems as though this person was sharpening their fingers in a rather dangerous pencil sharpener.
It takes a certain kind of kid to do something like that, and we have to agree with this commenter that maybe this child just wasn’t really the sharpest pencil in the pot. They said it, not us.
An alternate universe
It would be pretty cool if there were alternate universes out there, and we’d love to know what was going on in these different universes. Are we still as awesome as we are on this planet? Well, probably.
We really hope that Stephen Hawking would still be alive in one of these alternate universes as well, as this guy was the king of comebacks. Yes, not only was this guy one of the smartest men that we’ve ever come across, but he was also hilarious. Just look at this quip.
Retired and rich
If you cast your mind back to the early ‘00s, you might remember a time when MySpace was all the rage. My Space Tom was the man behind this social media network, and while many people – such as this Twitter user – assume that he watched MySpace perish in front of his eyes…
That just wasn’t the case. Tom Anderson wanted to make that clear when he received this rather insulting comment on one of his posts. He sold the company in 2005 for $580 million, so he’s doing alright for himself, thanks.
Couldn’t be happier
When something good happens in your life, many people like to share this news on social media for their friends and family to appreciate. That’s exactly what this person did when a girl told them that they loved them for the very first time.
This was a momentous occasion for them, and they probably hoped that their followers would be happy for them. Instead, they were greeted by someone who was a little skeptical of who this “girl” was. Could it perhaps have been their mom?
The best joke ever
Moms are normally seen as being pretty lame, and while we’re not sure why their child would want to call them out for not being funny, this mom soon proved that, actually, she had the best joke ever under her belt. After all, she made them, and they were the biggest joke out there.
Let’s hope that all of these comments were said in jest and that this mother and child duo love each other more than anything. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of banter every now and then.
Riding on the bus
There’s a high chance that you have come across someone you find pretty cute while using public transport, and if you don’t speak to them, you often have to make a judgment based on what they look like, what they’re doing, and how they’re behaving.
This can normally give you a good indicator of what they’re really like, but it seems as though this bus rider wasn’t too happy with the fact that the cute boy on the bus had an iPhone 6. She was the one on the bus too, though…
Try reading one
People love to think that they’re smarter than the rest of the world, and we have a feeling that the person who made this social media post was one of those individuals. They decided to test their theory on Facebook and wanted people to prove them wrong…
Because they were convinced that they were right. Unfortunately, it didn’t take their followers long to realize that he was actually very wrong, and one particular commenter decided to let them know that reading a book would probably help them out.
An ogre with layers
Everyone knows that Magic Mike is the ultimate movie for those who like ripped men who love to show off their muscles, and this person decided to hit up the internet with some facts.
According to them, the fact that Magic Mike grossed $167 million meant that the idea that women liked dad’s bods was a complete myth. Well, somebody soon came forward with some other facts of their own – and this included a very famous ogre who has many layers.
Philosophical bathroom breaks
There’s something about restroom walls that are so enticing to those who have a pen in their pocket. They see these walls as a blank canvas to write an iconic quote that they believe will provide other users with inner peace – but really, they are just messy.
This bathroom user obviously thought the same, so they decided to whip out their own orange pen to clear things up a little bit. For starters, what they did was vandalism. Secondly, the quote wasn’t theirs. Thirdly, nobody really cares.
An abrupt leap
There are many people in this world who love to question everything about our existence, and it seems as though Neil deGrasse Tyson is one of those people. Of course, you can’t really blame him, as that’s kinda what he does for a job.
It seems as though he was questioning something a little unnecessarily on this occasion, though. While he questioned the naming of a “Leap Day,” the person who submitted the response made it clear that it was kinda the perfect name for it.
Digging for tweets
If you have ever been targeted by trolls, have you ever looked at their profile to see what this troll is really about? Well, Anderson Cooper has. This reporter was called out for a tweet that he posted on his own social media account from someone who presumed that he wasn’t doing his job properly.
Instead of presuming what this troll was like in real life, he decided to snoop on her profile instead. He dug into her tweet history and found the perfect comeback.
Do you watch Riverdale? If you do, you’ll know that Cole Sprouse and KJ Adapa are good friends off the cameras, and they’re constantly roasting each other on social media. Their internet exchanges are absolutely hilarious, and every time, there’s always one obvious winner.
On this occasion, there’s no doubt about the fact that Sprouse took the lead. After KJ Apa tried to pull his co-star down with pictures of them both at 17 years old, he was forgetting that Cole was pretty rich as a teenager.
Hiding his name
When someone tries to brag on social media but hides the person’s name, you almost always know that they’re hiding something. This person wanted to brag about the fact that their man was sending them oodles of Snapchats and replaying all of their stories…
But those who saw this screenshot were a little confused. If he was their man, why were they hiding his name? They obviously didn’t want to brag about who he was, because the whole thing was kept a secret.
Needing an ambulance
While there’s no doubt about the fact that moms love their kids, sometimes they have to get payback for all of the times that their children played them when they were younger. This payback can come in many forms, but for this kid, it came in the form of a savage burn.
Of course, you could say that this kid set themselves up when they noted that they had bed sheets that were older than seven years, but it takes a serious burn expert to come up with a response like that. Moms are pretty awesome.
Some of the burns on this list have been singular burns, but we really hope this person had some aloe vera to their disposal because they were faced with the double trouble burn.
Not only were they burned by the person who made it known that they weren’t exactly attractive and that they admired their sacrifice, but they were then burned by the Wikipedia entry as well. You’ve gotta love it when people team up together to take on an obvious save response together. That’s epic teamwork.
Ready to block
If you have family on your social media pages, you really do need to be careful about what you post. After all, the last thing you want to do is say something out of line and offend a family member.
You know, like if you were to suggest that you were poor growing up even though you had everything you could possibly need and more. This mom obviously wasn’t going to stand for their child making such claims, so they decided to let their feelings be known. You go, mom.
Why y’all lying?
Because we live in a world where everyone wants to go viral and make their mark, people will outright lie to get this attention. While there are some people who will believe these lies based on their face value, there are others who want to make sure that what they’re looking at is true.
Because of this, one person decided to look into this supposed picture of a grocery store in 1979. To the untrained eye, it looked as though it could be legitimate. Until you see the stand of Gatorade, that is.
Caught me sleeping
When two people get together, they love to showcase their romance on social media for everyone to see – and we love seeing their love as the days go by. However, this can make some people jealous, and it can make single people feel more single than ever.
In response to these adorable couple photos, this person decided to lie to the internet in the hope that they would stop feeling alone for the night. Okay, it’s pretty obvious that their boyfriend didn’t catch them sleeping, but we’ll give it to them just this once.
What great seats
You don’t need to have watched every episode of Catfish to know that it’s pretty easy to make up a fake reality for yourself on the internet. Whether you want to win over your crush, whether you want to stalk your ex, or whether you just want to make your friends jealous, it’s pretty easy to do that.
That’s obviously what this person decided to do, as they wanted their friends to think that they had bagged the best seats in the house for the Super Bowl. In reality, they just used a television and a good camera angle.
Standing behind you
We don’t condone cheating, but if you’re going to cheat and not get away with it, you need to become a better liar. We all know that cheaters never prosper, but it seems as though bad liars never seem convincing as well. This cheater tried to make it seem as though they were super tired and going to sleep.
But in actual fact, they had made their way to the club that their girlfriend absolutely loved. There was always going to be a chance that their girlfriend could turn up, and it seems as though that’s exactly what happened.
Saving the day
If you were standing in the bank and heard someone screaming at you to get down, there’s a high chance that you would do so. After all, we’ve come to learn that bank robbers normally mean business, and will normally do everything they can to get their hands on the cold, hard cash.
However, it seems as though this fear and compliance are learned rather than innate, as this little girl managed to overpower the bank robbers with just a few words. Plus, they got a reward in the process.
A bad message
Those who have ventured into the realm of online dating will know just how important your opening message is. You need to show that you’re keen, but not too keen, and you need to create an opening message that will encourage the other person to message you back.
We’re sure that this guy thought he was pretty smooth when he made up all of this spiel to win over his match, but he probably should have thought about it more. It’s never really a good idea to joke around with such topics.
Busted in the sun
Do you ever scroll through your social media channels and feel pretty jealous of the people who seem to be living their best lives? Well, you’re not alone. Many people feel as though they need to keep up with these glorified posts on social media…
Which is why some of them create a false reality for themselves. This guy tried to do just that when he attempted to create a fake day at the beach, but what he didn’t realize was that he was busted by a family member.
A distorted timeline
There are so many celebrity icons out there who have said quotes that are now a part of our history. Even after these celebs pass away, these beautiful quotes stay with them and allow their memory to continue – as long as people remember them correctly, of course.
While this person tried to be all philosophical with their post, what they failed to do was question the authenticity of this particular quote. Marilyn Monroe definitely didn’t say that, unless she was secretly a time traveler who was able to buy herself a cell phone.
I drew this
We hate to say it, but we live in a world full of fakes. It seems as though everyone is trying to make them look better than they really are, and this is sometimes at a disservice to the people who have worked incredibly hard to build up a name for themselves.
That’s why we were pretty glad to see this savage response. Rebecca was trying to take credit for this incredibly Alice in Wonderland inspired drawing, but one quite reverse image search by this commenter quickly proved that she was not the original illustrator.
Bending the truth
We’re all probably guilty of bending the truth every now and then, as sometimes we just can’t help ourselves. Most of the time, we know to add just a few little details here and there, rather than create a whole different version of events.
This person didn’t get that memo, though. They decided to share a story whereby they single-handedly scared a lion away by getting on all fours and growling at them. Of course, we don’t 100% know that this didn’t happen, but we’re not convinced…
Never driven it
You probably don’t need us to tell you that anything associated with a celebrity immediately becomes a hot commodity. People spend hundreds of dollars buying tissues that Justin Bieber may have used, clothes that the Kardashians wore once, and cars that were driven by these famous faces.
However, it’s important to know what you’re buying and whether it really is authentic, as there are many people out there who will try anything to add a few zeros to their sale price, like this car seller.
Post your pic and go
You don’t have to scroll too far on social media to find beautiful pictures of people who know how to work their angles and get a good shot of themselves that will rake in the likes. They normally post their pictures with captions that get people talking – like this woman.
She wanted the world to know that she used to be bullied when she was younger, but that she has since grown into a stunning butterfly with oodles of followers online. With so many followers comes people who actually knew you in middle school, though.
In between workouts
Many schools, organizations, and companies like to show the world that everything is ship-shape through their social media channels. They often do this by getting their students and employees to pose for photoshoots and candid shots that will showcase these supposed facts. However, they sometimes need to focus on the finer details when it comes to these photos. After all, we’re not quite sure how anyone could study in between workouts if they don’t have a real pen in their hands.
Just hold up…
If someone is really breaking into your house, there’s a high chance that you wouldn’t be writing a Facebook status about it. You’re probably going to be hiding under your bed or waiting around the corner with a frying pan for protection.
Because of this, it’s a little hard to believe a status like this. Just like all of the people said underneath this status, they should probably have focused more on calling the cops than updating their social media pages.
One foot forward
People seem to love posting their mistakes on social media, and we really don’t blame them. We all need a laugh sometimes, and these hilarious mistakes are enough to put a smile on your face.
However, we do have to wonder how some of these mistakes come about in the first place. You have to seriously put effort into tying your feet to the outside of your shoes, and we’re not sure how anyone could do it without realizing what they were doing wrong.
In a world where new and exciting content is key, it seems as though content creators are now trying anything to gain followers, likes, and views. Most of the time, this content is authentic and genuine, but there are other times where it’s pretty obvious that something isn’t quite right.
Although this budding YouTube star thought that he would break the internet by showing how he smuggled himself onto a plane, the airline soon chimed in to let him know that they had their own footage they’d like to share.
A fresh new ride
It’s easy to get caught up in the celebrity lifestyle, and it can be easy to feel upset that you don’t have the mansions that they do, the designer clothes that hang in their closets, or the expensive cars that sit in their garages.
Because of this, many people try to make it seem as though they have this life even though they don’t. Take this person, for example. Using the right camera angles and a few props, they were able to show off their fresh new ride – and it kinda worked.
Explaining the situation
Lies are a little bit like jokes. If you have to explain them, then they’re probably not very good. This person obviously didn’t know that before they posted this picture to their social media pages, though. They decided to show off the fact that they had just been paid.
And while they were happy with the money in their pocket, they wanted to make it seem as though they had more to their name. So, they decided to let the world of social media know that they had more, but they were just hiding the big bills…
The first page
If you’re going to steal a photo from Google and pass it off as your own, you should probably go past the first page of the search engine. In fact, you should probably go past the first image.
Otherwise, you can almost guarantee that someone is going to come along, question the quality of the photo – and your snowboarding skills – and chase things up for themselves. This guy needs to try harder next time, and we’re not just talking about his stint on the snow.
Getting a little confused
There are many people on this planet who love nothing more than sitting in front of their games console and playing their favorite game. Because of this, they get pretty excited when a brand new game comes out – and this person was so excited they decided to ask their mom for a favor.
Not only did they want a copy of the new game, but they also wanted 25 coffees so they could stay up all night and play this new debut. It seems as though they might have to make some coffee at home, though.
What’s in a name?
You probably don’t need us to tell you that some people are pretty embarrassed to say that they enjoy Justin Bieber and his music. After all, his music is often associated with teenage girls – even though people of all ages love his songs.
Because of this, this person probably didn’t want anyone to know that they were a huge Bieber fan when they made this comment on a YouTube video. They should have checked their username before doing this, don’t you think?
In a society where we’re constantly competing to be the best, it shouldn’t surprise you to learn that many people over-egg their achievements. They tell their parents they scored higher on their school test, they tell potential bosses that they have more skills than they do, and they even lie about their IQ score.
This woman probably would have gotten away with this lie if the app hadn’t stabbed her in the back. There she was giving her own score, while the app notification had its own score there for everyone to see.
The perfect shot
If you’re the kind of person that loves to get as many likes on the ‘Gram as possible, you probably spend a huge amount of time searching for the perfect shot. You make sure the lighting is right, you ensure that the backdrop is perfect, and you spend ages choosing the right filter.
This person also wanted to make sure that their picture was perfect, which is why they decided to paint just one nail that could be seen in the shot. That’s actually a good idea…
Being a good person
There are so many things wrong with this social media post, and we’re glad that someone took the time to call them out with this savage response. After all, they went against everything they said in their “philosophical” and “meaningful” post.
For starters, they noted that Christmas isn’t about bragging about what you bought for who – but that’s exactly what they are doing with this picture of the tip they supposedly left. Secondly, they wrote this note on the wrong copy of the receipt.
Nature is a healer
The world is full of Instagram influencers who seem to be experiencing life to the full. They’re constantly jetting off to new locations, they’re always doing fun activities, and they’re always eating delicious food. How much of this can we believe, though?
This woman is proof that anything can be manipulated. Sure, she can tag her local hiking trail and spout wonderings about nature as a healer, but her brother’s photos show us something a little different. She definitely got caught out with this one.
Bed bug photographers
People love to show their love off in front of their friends and family, and they often do this by posting adorable couple pictures for the whole world to see. While these are cute if the people are awake and it’s obvious that someone has actually taken the photo…
It’s photos like this one that really grinds our gears. This commenter has got it exactly right; who is taking the photo of these sleeping people? Unless the bed bugs have become photographers, we say this is a fix.
A pinch of salt
Unless you are buying from a reputable source, you need to take everything that’s being sold on the internet with a pinch of salt. This is especially true if you are buying something second-hand or from someone who bought the item for themselves originally.
This person thought that they would get away with selling used sunglasses and passing them off as brand new, but it seems as though this commenter wasn’t having any of it. They’d already seen his profile picture and the sunglasses on his face.
Fake it until you make it
You probably don’t need us to tell you that most people crave money. So many people dream of being rich, but until they actually get this money in their bank account, they tend to lie about how full their wallets really are. Don’t believe us?
Just check out this savage burn. While Adrian tried to make it seem as though his fake friends just couldn’t handle his money, his co-worker soon chimed up with his own quip. He knew exactly how much he was making, and it wasn’t enough for statuses like that.
Covering your tracks
If you’re going to outright lie on social media, it’s probably a good idea that you get the people closest to you involved as well. Otherwise, there’s a very high chance that they are going to out you and let the world know that you were lying.
This person tried to show the world that they had managed to make their way into an exclusive club, but they forgot that they had their roommate on their social media page. They probably should have let them in on the lie before posting this.
When selling things online, many potential buyers like to know that they are buying something from a smoke-free and pet-free home. This allows the seller to up the price slightly and sell it as quickly as possible.
It seems as though this person decided to lie about the fact that this couch wasn’t coming from a pet-free home, but this wasn’t just based on hearsay. It was pretty clear for any buyer to see that there was a definite cat in that household.
A family resemblance
If you have a family member that you love in your life, you may look in the mirror and wonder whether you look anything like them. You may even look at old photographs to see if there is any family resemblance there.
At first glance, it seems as though this young woman is the spitting image of her grandmother, and we were almost convinced. Yet, these pictures are a little too perfect. If you look closely, you’ll be able to see that this is the same woman, just with some extra glasses.
Making me sad
It’s always hard when you learn that someone has cheated on you, and we have no doubt about the fact that this woman was probably pretty heartbroken when her partner cheated on her. Although she made her way onto social media to make her sadness known…
She probably should have thought about what she was saying before she posted it. Sure, she could be sad over the fact that someone cheated on her, but didn’t she do the same thing last year? That’s called double standards.
The wrong accessory
Everyone dreams of having a nice car that they can show off for the whole social media world to see, and this woman obviously thought that she had convinced her friends, family members, and followers that she had bought herself a new Porsche.
Anyone who wanted to zoom in on this photo – and particularly at the key that she has in her hand – will see that she’s actually just posing in front of someone else’s car. Last time we checked, a Volkswagen key won’t work in a Porsche.
Not about that life
When it comes to big changes in their lives, many social media users like to update their friends and followers about these changes. This person did just that when they announced that they were ditching meat and animal products for a vegan lifestyle.
While they probably had good intentions, it seems as though they didn’t follow through with good actions. They were savagely called out by someone who spotted them eating a half-chicken, half-steak bowl, and we definitely just spat out our own salad bowl.
New world record
People love to brag, and they love to make themselves look much better than they are. Of course, we’re sure that there is some kind of psychological explanation for that, but these people need to know that if you’re going to lie, you need to do your research.
This man decided to show off his imaginary running skills by posting his new personal best on social media, but do you think he knew that even the fastest runners in the world couldn’t beat that speed? Probably not.
Not his fault
There’s something just so adorable and hilarious about dogs who wreck their owners’ home while they’re out, and there’s no doubt about the fact that these pictures normally go viral online. Perhaps that’s why this person decided to create a completely fake scenario where this happened in their own home?
We have a feeling that this really wasn’t the dog’s fault this time because last time we checked, dogs didn’t have the ability to slide a zipper from one side to the other.
Stuck in traffic
It’s kinda weird when people post a selfie without posting a caption with it, but we bet we’ve all been in a situation where we just can’t think of a suitable caption. We can only assume that this man was in the same scenario…
Which is why he decided to make up the story that he was stuck in traffic. Unfortunately, it seems as though his sunglasses broke his cover, as you can quite clearly see that there’s an open road in front of him. At least he tried, we guess.
Social media can open up some serious cans of worms, especially if you still have people you’ve scorned as followers. They will always try and call you out when you lie, and that’s exactly what happened here.
We bet this woman really doesn’t like it when people lie to her face, but that doesn’t mean that she hasn’t lied in someone else’s face before. This savage response was totally justified, and it seems as though she knew it as well. Why else would she reply with just “go away”?
Everyone knows that you need to study for your exams to get the grades you need to succeed in life. This is common knowledge, and it’s something that everyone has to accept – whether they like it or not.
However, it seems as though there are some people out there who think that it’s “cool” to pretend as though they don’t care about their grades or their future. This student tried to do that, but they were quickly shut down by the person who was quite literally sitting next to them in the library.
Well, this is awkward
If you have ever got involved in the “Confessions” side of social media, you’ll know that all of these posts are meant to be anonymous. These declarations of love and admiration are posted anonymously on specific page.
And they are to be read by the people they are about – and the rest of the world. It’s important that if you’re going to post a confession, though, you should post it on the right page. This is especially true if you’re going to write a confession about yourself.
The same conversation
Of course, there is a chance that Robert Downey Jr. and Jimmy Kimmel stole this epic conversation from this social media user and their hairdresser, but the chances of that happening are pretty unlikely.
Instead, it seems as though this person has simply tried to create a funny little anecdote from social media by using something that had already been said. Thank goodness for the people who are willing to call these liars out and gift them with some savage burns. Got some lotion for that?
Winning the race
If someone is competing at the University of Miami, there’s a high chance that they’re pretty talented. We’re not denying the fact that the person who posted this wasn’t extremely successful in the pool…
But on this occasion, it seems as though he really didn’t turn his head because he was winning. It turns out that he was actually turning his head because he could see the person next to him was going to overtake him and win. The truth hurts, but at least it’s not a lie.
A symbolic gesture
Isn’t it cute when couples make their way to Paris, write their names on a padlock, attach it to a love bridge, and then throw the key into the waters below? Countless people make their way to Paris every single year to do this, but we have a feeling that this couple wasn’t one of them.
Sure, they may be a couple, and they may be soul mates, but that’s definitely not their photo. For starters, there’s a watermark on the photo. Secondly, that’s not actually Paris…
Taking away the credit
Some professionals have to work extremely hard over the course of their careers to get their work out there, and we bet that’s no different for this photographer. Nick Boyer has probably spent a huge portion of his life building up a client base who know him for his work.
All for it to be taken by someone on social media to claim as their own. Thankfully for Nick, he had someone on his side who was willing to stand up for what was right.
A five-step process
Nowadays, you don’t have to look too hard to come across a fellow social media users’ selfie. After all, it seems as though everyone loves showing off their new hair, flashing their white teeth, or just posting a photo to get compliments.
This is something we’re all pretty used to by now, which is why most people don’t appreciate the whole “accident” excuse. As this savage burn suggests, it’s really quite impossible to accidentally post a picture to Instagram.
Twisting their words
Although there’s no doubt about the fact that celebrities have dreamy lives to wake up to every single day, living your life in the limelight isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be.
That’s because many news outlets like to take what they say and twist it into their own headline or create completely made-up stories for the sake of their readers. Chris O’Dowd obviously didn’t want anyone to think that he had really said these things, so he called this newspaper out for its false news.
Despite the fact that many people use filters and editing software to change their photos, there are many people out there who take pride in the fact that they are naturally beautiful. Because of this, they show off their natural beauty with these no filters and no-makeup selfies.
Apparently, this woman posted one of these on her own social media channel – but we don’t think she’s fooling anyone. From the eye color to the fake freckles and the eyelashes, everything about this screams Photoshop.
