Great tips on how to get rid of wrinkles without an iron

Not everyone has access to an iron, and certainly not when you’re off traveling or on vacation. So how on earth do you get over the issue of removing those awful creases out of the shirt or dress you want to wear in the evening? It’s quite easy when you really get down to it, and there are a few options open to you.

Crack out the flat iron

Ooh yes. Did you think that flat irons were only good for making your hair straight? Wrong. They have a few uses, and this is one of them. It’s not nearly as effective as having an actual iron, but it really can be the difference between looking totally creased and much smoother, the kind that no-one is going to notice. However, we don’t recommend just going all out on your garment before you’ve thoroughly cleaned off all the potential hair product stuck to it.

The pot trick

One easy trick is using a hot pot. All you need is, yeah, you got it, a normal metal pot, kind of like what you would boil your vegetables or your pasta in . Add some hot or boiling water to it for a moment or two, so it heats the pot up and then tip it out. That will allow you to use the bottom of the pot as an iron, smoothing out large and small wrinkles in your outfit. Again, make sure it’s as clean as possible, as you won’t be particularly pleased with any food remnants ironing into your clothes.

Dryer sheets

If you have access to a dryer as opposed to an iron, then you can opt for getting some dryer sheets and chucking your clothes into the dryer for 15 minutes or so. If you add in dryer sheets, many people believe that it helps to reduce wrinkling as well as making your clothes smell divine.

The shower can help

Using the shower can be great if you’re stuck in a tight spot and strapped for time. Obviously, don’t go putting your clothes in the actual shower, but if you hang it up in the room and run the shower hot then the steam will help to reduce the creasing. It’s not going to work miracles, but it can help improve things in a pinch of time. If you’re traveling or on the move, then this is a great thing to remember.
